Years before Tinder came into the scene, Aveek got lucky to meet Sayantee through Orkut. She was a 16-year-old schoolgirl and he was on the verge of hitting the 20s. None of them knew how things would shape up – all they knew was the fact that they were destined to be together, forever. Battling the obstacles that came their way and dating for a decade, they finally got hitched last winter.
At a heritage building on the banks of the Ganges, their wedding in Kolkata was indeed a grand affair. Glittering in lights, the cold winter evening fetched warmth from the love of the friends and relatives. The venue was aesthetically decorated to keep a sync with the old world charm and the mandap was set up on the lawns, which added a majestic look to the entire decor and making it a delight for the guests, including the wedding photographers. With live juggling performance, a sprawling mocktails’ bar and a buffet with lavish spread – it could be perfectly defined as a “big fat Bengali wedding”. It was an absolutely gorgeous location that matched the tone of the event and broadened the arena of candid wedding photography.
With a bundle of creative wedding photography ideas, Photographians got to cover Sayantee and Aveek’s journey through several rituals spanning over 3 days and it was indeed an incredible experience for us.
